 Dedication of Th

Lateran Basilica

Today we celebrate another glorious feast: It is the feast of the Lord’s house, of God’s temple, of the city of the eternal king.
Let us ask ourselves what this house of God, this temple, this city . . . can be.
 –Saint Bernard of Clairvaux
Reflecting on the Word:
In this age of anger management, it’s easy to lose sight of the fact that sometimes anger or strong emotions might be justified. When values are violated or important principles are at stake, anger as deep emotion and a passion to correct the wrong is an appropriate feeling, as Jesus well knew and demonstrated in today’s Gospel. It is all a question of how you handle and channel anger when it arises. Pause for a prayer and channel your angry energy for constructive change.  There is nothing wrong with emotion and passion for Christ!
