Twenty-sixth
Sunday in Ordinary Time
September
25, 2016
The message this week is centered on recognizing
the needs of others and attending to them. In the first reading from Amos, we
hear of the consequences of the wealthy Israelites for neglecting those needs
and letting them know that they will be the first to be exiled. Our Gospel tell us of the terrible things
that will happen to those of power and riches who ignore the plight of the ones
who suffer around them. Our prayers this week need to be asking for the grace to
open our eyes and our hearts to those who are in need around us.
