Today’s Gospel calls all of us to
serve and not be served. It calls you
and I to give to others rather than to receive.
When we do something to help someone, we should not expect recognition
or reward. The gift we give of time,
talent or treasure is just that, a gift and not a loan. “Whoever wishes to be first among you will be
the slave to all. For the Son of man did
not come to be served but to serve and to give His life as a ransom for many.” – Deacon Jim
