Thirtieth Sunday in
Ordinary Time
How often have we
longed to be healed by the Lord, only to hesitate to ask because of a sense of
our unworthiness? /today’s Gospel is a sign of encouragement for us, as Jesus
hears and heals Bartimaeus, whose name means “son of the unclean one.” Just as he heard those around him say, “Take courage; get up, Jesus is calling
you,” let us hear those words today and be encouraged to do the same.
