In explaining the Jubilee of Mercy, Pope Francis
declared that showing compassion and understanding for those in difficult
situations is not only an individual disciple’s duty, but is the responsibility
of the Universal Church. Every word
Jesus spoke during his life, every action he undertook of healing and
forgiving, he did so with mercy and love.
He demonstrated that he loves us continually and unconditionally. Jesus’s love is the model for our own
lives. As Jesus loves, so we are to
