Ascension of the Lord
Today’s Gospel from Matthew
is in itself the best reflection that could be written. It says it all: “All power in heaven and on
earth has been given to me. Go. Therefore,
and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and
of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit... and behold, I am with you always, until
the end of the age.” This gift that
Jesus has given is for all times and for all people. Jesus’ presence is lasting for all times and
his memory is alive for all people, until the end of time. Let us praise the Lord for his wondrous
gifts. Alleluia! Alleluia!
