The Baptism of the Lord
As we listen to the
words of the Gospel today, we her that the people were looking to John the
Baptist to be the long-awaited Messiah.
That expectation, misdirected as it was, did keep them looking for the
Messiah. John was able to direct them
from him-self to the person of Jesus, the “beloved Son” of God. Our own baptism with “The Holy Spirit”
initiates us on a journey of discovery not only of who Jesus is, but also who
we are in Him. We are so blessed to know
the true Messiah in our lives. – Deacon Jim
