Eighteenth Sunday in
Ordinary Time

“I am the bread of life, whoever comes to me will never hunger, and
whoever believes in me will never thirst.” When we realize that Jesus desires to give us (bread that lasts) we ask
Him to “Give us this bread always.” But,
like the crowd in the Gospel today, we do not always fully understand what
Jesus is actually giving us. It is not
bread but his very Self. This Gift is the work of God; our work is to receive
this Gift with an open heart and faith in God. – Deacon Jim
